Dispatch centers

Dispatch centers

Since the beginning of our operations, we have been involved in automation and remote control systems for tram, trolleybus, and railway traction. We primarily implement automation systems based on controllers and distribution cabinets of our own production. We have also developed our own SCADA system built on the ZEO software.

ZEO System – Applications:

  • tram substation control centers: Kraków, Chorzów, Częstochowa, Toruń, Olsztyn,
  • trolleybus substation control centers: Gdynia, Lublin, Tychy,
  • railway traction tontrol center: WKD,
  • local control centers on the railway network across Poland (including Gdynia, Miastko, Słupsk, Okęcie, Radom, Terespol, Poznań, Tarnów, Lubartów, Jedlnia),
  • main controllers for EOR and street lighting systems (several dozen applications),
  • automation systems for maintenance halls.

SCADA System in Numbers (Example from Tramwaje Śląskie):

  • 37 controlled traction substations,
  • Over 140 controlled disconnectors on the traction network,
  • 630 electronic controllers connected to the system across all substations,
  • 15,000 monitored states (total number of records reflecting specific states in the server database).

SCADA System Structure:

  • center cabinet equipped with communication devices, Primary Server, Backup Server, and UPS,
  • dispatcher stations (multi-monitor visualizations),
  • technical station,
  • Graphic Wall (seamless monitor matrix designed for continuous 24/7 operation, with visualization computer and multi-monitor card).

Key Features of the ZEO System:

  • customizable system based on client requirements and preferences:
    • special service function definitions (e.g., acceptance of all stations),
    • keyboard shortcut definitions,
    • mouse operation settings,
    • window layout and appearance customization for specific users;
  • multiple monitoring windows: general layout, power area, station schemes, etc.,
  • integration with Other User Systems (e.g., mapping states from other systems),
  • dual Communication Paths to controlled objects,
  • control Area Division among dispatchers,
  • complete Event and Operation Logging in an SQL database,
  • multiple Terminal Connections:
    • multi-monitor dispatcher stations,
    • graphic walls,
    • mobile stations (e.g., laptop with GSM),
    • remote stations connected via internet links;
  • multi-level Information Display:
    • general level (e.g., entire switchgear layout, network scheme),
    • detailed level (e.g., individual switchgear field in a separate window),
    • ability to limit information through layers;
  • automatic power supply analysis: Shows power status for lines and circuits,
  • various event signaling methods (descriptions, icons, flashing, color/shape change, etc.),
  • recent events terminal for quick review,
  • advanced event reporting functions,
  • system scalability: from controlling individual objects to managing the entire urban area.
